Volleyball season is starting! w00t!

Volleyball is one of the best sports ever, I love v-ball :) Especially on the beach, but that's not so easy during the winter here in Murlin. So my buddies joined a co-ed league about 12 years ago and we've been playing Sundays in the spring and fall ever since. This Sunday is the first game of the next season and I'm stoked. Team sports never drew me in much as a kid, soccer was about it but the running got old fast. There was a few weeks of lacrosse in high school but again with the running and now in the cold! As far as team sports go v-ball is where it's at. The action is fast paced unlike the national pasttime, contact with the opponents is nil unlike the warriors on the grid iron, and you can hit a vball around almost anywhere unlike, well, I guess Tiger Woods can do that bouncing ball thing anywhere, he's an exception though.

Vball is a year round sport with the added bonus of sand play when it's warm and sunny (although we've played in sand cold enough to keep us from feeling our toes after a while, but dammit, we were tired of winter and wanted to play in the sand!) So yeah, vball rocks. I'll go the park and have a great time watching the O's or hang out on a Sunday with the gang watching football and grillin dogs/burgers. To actually play a team sport though, vball takes the cake.
